The sad thing is that the majority of the JW's believe everything that the WTS tells them. I spoke to two elders & their wifes, at different times. They responded with the same answers. Funny that they live in different states and about 1,200 miles apart.
They are being fed this BS from the WTS that it was the local "elders" fault for not reporting.
I wonder if a class action suit could be filed. All the abuses have many things in common. Why is it that "all the elders" responded the same? Who tells them how to respond? (WTS)
Do you sue the local elders for "their" errors will they be then "forced" to speak if they are loosing their homes and their families will no longer have a safe warm place to sleep at night.
I still say that we help Bill by printing several newsarticles and the dateline transcript and requesting our local newspapers to write an article on the victims.

Hi everyone,
The grand is not mine but my mothers. She just went through a nasty divorce. She left her DF Pedophile husband.
She really left him everything. She wanted out. He kept the two business & a home. She only received the profits from selling their 2nd home. I gues it's better than nothing.
Anyways, she needs advice on how to invest, safely, about 60,000. She would like to buy a home in about 4 years. She just moved to a new town so she's starting life all over again at 51. She's a pretty smart, funny & hard working lady. I know she'll do real well. She's already working and rented a home in the best place in her new city so my little brother can go to a 'good' school. She plans like I said to buy a home but not until my brother finishes High School in 4 years. She'll also move & retire in another state that's why she's not buying a home now.
Any advice on CD's, interest rates, money market accounts will really help.

Hi everyone,
I thought that locally we might be able to help Bill Bowen & all the abused victims by making copies of this Newsweek article, other newspaper articles and the dateline transcript or video and taking them to our local newspapers & requesting an article be written to inform the public of the possibility of "pedophiles" knocking at their doors.
Another idea was to give these copies out to other churches. I'm positive that they would include some type of warnings to their parish, church, congregation, etc. against the JW's.
If the articles are ran in the local newspapers, local radio stations might include these "news" in their daily broadcasts.
In addition after the stories are run, we could write letters to the editor thanking them for their articles. We could then post on this board the results we obtained. Anyone for it?

In January a woman from Sacramento, Calif., filed a lawsuit charging that church leaders knowingly failed to notify civil authorities that she was raped by a member of her congregation.
A former church leader in Maryland was indicted in February for sexually assaulting three women who saythey were told by elders not to report the abuse, and were excommunicated when they did.
After additional stories aired recently on TV, a victims' support group run by William H. Bowen was deluged with e - mails and phone calls. "Catholics only protect the priests. Jehovah's Witnesses do it for any member of the church," says Bowen, a former elder from Kentucky.
Sara Poisson says that prior to her husband's conviction for sexually abusing her daughters, church elders told her to "pray more and be a better wife."
Church spokesman J. R. Brown says the group instructs local leaders to notify police when required by law. They also conduct their own investigation: "That consists of going directly to the accused." If someone confesses, says Brown, he will be prohibited from going door-to-door-unless accompanied by another Witness. Brown points out that people who accuse the church are often lapsed Witnesses, and "open prey" for exploiters. But victims like Poisson's daughter, Heather Berry, 20, say it's the church that does the exploiting. "They're letting the kids down. I don't think there's anything Christian about allowing abuse to continue." [Photograph]

Is there any way that I could read the transcripts from the court proceedings? Are they filed in Spokane, WA?
I'd like to read them. My uncle, who is an elder in CA, keeps telling that I'm being mislead by believing things from net "at face value". I'd love to tell him.

Auto accident - Was rear ended

I was just rear-ended. My daughter was in the backseat. I was completely stopped-due to oncomming traffic. I was going to turn left. My signal light & brake light where on.
The girl who rear-ended my is 17 & was driving daddy's car. Her passenger told the police that she told the 17year old driver to stop that the the car in front had it's left signal light on.
I feel like a train ran over me. All of my right side aches ALOT more than my left side. The back of my head (rt side) & bum ache.
Does anyone have info that could help me feel better. The ER DR gave me Ibuprofen with Codeine.

ps. the girl was going at least 35 miles per hour. My car will be in the shop for a new bumper & the Unibody also needs to be checked out.
